On October 7, 2023, the terrorist organization Hamas launched an attack on Israel, beginning with multiple massacres targeting civilians at the Nova festival and the kibbutzim Be’eri, Kfar Aza, Nir Oz, Netiv Haasara, Alumim, among other locations. This attack and the ensuing conflict elicited strong reactions worldwide, many of which were unexpected and morally reprehensible.
The violent events of the Arab Spring in 2010, followed by subsequent waves of refugees entering Europe, significantly changed Europe’s demographics and cultural landscape. The political influence of Islamism has grown in the Western world, largely due to these migrations, and has become a noticeable political force. Consequently, Hamas’s terrorist attack on Israel was celebrated by a broad spectrum of groups instead of being condemned as it should have been. Islamist ideology instantly surfaced and showed its true face as an enemy of modern values.
People with an Islamist ideology, influenced by figures like Iran’s Ayatollahs, have formed an unlikely alliance with various Western groups, especially among young people, students, intellectuals in leftist, liberal, post-modern, LGBT, feminist, and climate activist movements, united by a common disdain for Israel and its Jewish population. Legacy media and social platforms have enabled this viewpoint to spread rapidly in Western societies worldwide. This is anti-Semitism at its very core. Many people do not even seem to understand this, nor how Hamas terror is part of a web stretching from power centers in Moscow, Beijing, Pyongyang, and Tehran. This development is concerning, as it threatens not only the existence of the State of Israel but also poses challenges to the very foundation of Western democracies.
It is everyone’s responsibility to stand against these fundamentalist ideologies and actions. In light of this, Battlegroundarchives.com wholeheartedly supports Israel and its efforts to defend its people and territory.
